Bathroom Renovations

in Southern Maine + New Hampshire

York, Maine

This stunning bathroom renovation in York, Maine, had specific goals the client was trying to meet. We are happy to say the remodel accomplished all of them. The original bathroom was outdated, and the layout was not optimal. The client wanted a more modern bathroom with a more functional design. Also on the client’s wishlist was upgrading the lighting and storage in both the bathroom and the laundry area. And as a special touch, the client wanted a new, wall-mounted heated towel rack.

  • This project had a few areas that needed special thought and planning. The floor tile presented a bit of a challenge. Because it was running through four different rooms and the hallway, we came up with the best layout we could to maximize the use of full tiles and minimize the use of any small tiles. The client had recessed medicine cabinets that slide open vertically, with the mirror moving up and down for access to the shelf. We made sure that any lighting, trim, outlets, and other accessories did not impede that functionality. And in the laundry room, we added custom cabinets that slide out (rather than using hanging cabinets), for easy access to storage, solving the client’s difficulty in accessing hanging cabinets.

“Thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, expertise, time, and patience.”

We are especially proud of the lovely tile work and the recessed storage niche in the shower. The vanities are gorgeous with under-mount sinks, beautiful white and gray countertops, and bronze finishes. The whole project—bathroom and laundry room—is fresh, functional, and lovely. The client was very happy with the finished project, especially the speed with which it was completed, and our involvement in making it exactly what she wanted.

Dover, New Hampshire

This bathroom remodel in Dover, New Hampshire, was outdated and needed a storage upgrade. The client came to us asking for a more modern bathroom and also wanted us to remove the tub and replace it with a shower. We used a shower door instead of a shower curtain to give the bathroom a more open and modern feel. We put in a Swanstone shower, a gorgeous solid-surface product made to last a lifetime. This shower features a corner bench, corner shelves, and a niche.

  • We added a beautiful Fleurco shower door to finish the look. We also installed built-in shelves to address the storage shortage. The client was thrilled with the finished bathroom and has given us multiple referrals already. (The best way to know we’ve succeeded at a project is when our clients recommend us to their friends!) Bathrooms with Swanstone showers are generally finished more quickly, and this one was no exception. The client appreciated the speed of this project, also citing our great customer service as a reason for their satisfaction.

3 BATHROOM RENOVATIONS IN

Durham, New Hampshire

This client called us to work on THREE bathrooms. Before we began work, the bathrooms were pretty outdated. Many of the plumbing fixtures were leaking. All three bathrooms had old ceiling tiles, and none of them were vented at all. The yellow bathroom in particular had extensive water damage and a layout that was not functional.

Because the Durham, New Hampshire house was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, the homeowner wanted to make sure that we kept the color schemes and feel of the bathrooms, while updating them and giving each one a personal touch.

  • We kept the tall, cast-iron baseboard heat in each bathroom, cleaning and painting them to match the rooms. We properly vented each bathroom to avoid any further issues with moisture damage. In the yellow bathroom, we added a curbless shower, both for ease of entry and to make it easier to bathe the dog in that space. We updated lighting and glass throughout, putting new custom glass in the blue bathroom’s shower, and between the shower and the tub in the yellow bathroom.

All the bathrooms were originally wall-to-wall tile, and the homeowners wanted to keep that design while updating them with newer tile styles and patterns. And it turned out beautifully: herringbone in the red bathroom, hexagon in the blue bathroom, and diamond in the yellow bathroom. The different colors and patterns of the tiles are striking. The clients were very happy with the finished bathrooms. They remarked on the speed of the project, the great customer service they received, and their ability to be involved in the project. We loved working with these clients a second time; they feel like family!
